Hitachi has launched two new HD LCDs, the Picture Master 32LD9700 (32 inch) and 37LD9700 (37 inch) with In Plane Switching Technology which promises clearer sharper pictures with true colour, wider viewing angle (176 degrees) and better responsiveness.
Wider viewing angle and better image quality are achieved through controlling the passage of light through IPS – IPS (in-plane switching) LCD is a horizontal electric field type LCD created by Hitachi. The simple movement of liquid crystal elements revolving in parallel with the glass substrates has realized this wide viewing angle LCD, where changes of color tone due to the viewing angle or gradation are so slight that the natural picture can be seen from any angle vertically or horizontally. The AS-IPS technology modified for TVs has improved the aperture ratio by approx. 30% compared with conventional products to produce higher brightness. It also features improved color reproducibility.
For Standard Definition material, Full Digital Signal Processing and Scaling ensures that the signal remains pure and clean, while High Quality Digital Image Pixel Processing Technology analyses every pixel in each image signal. Two hi-tech chips work together to handle the process.The new 1080 Progressive Processing system up-scales incoming signals, adding extra pixels to create impressive sharpness and. The Super Dynamic Contrast function analyses pictures to enhance picture quality in dark scenes and provide even richer blacks.
In addition, Hitachi’s 37LD9700U LCD TV boasts over 1 billion colours thanks to the virtual 10-bit Advanced Digital Colour Management. Finally, there’s the High Quality Video Motion processing system, with a High Speed Calculation process which controls every on-screen pixel to avoid any blurring.
