Sony have added a 40in model to their 3D enabled flagship 'Signature' LX903 range of LCD TVs.

The high end LX903 gets an Edge based implementation of LED backlighting along with a Freeview HD tuner and 200Hz 'MotionFlow'.
Bear in mind that Freeview HD services are currently being rolled out across the UK, so it is important to check via Freeview whether they are available in your area.
Of course, the most interesting feature of these screens is their extra dimensional capability and while you will need to sort out some 3D content you do get a pair of Active Shutter glasses with the TV.
Content is a little thin on the ground at the moment, but is set to increase as Sky launch a dedicated 3D channel this October and if you are prepared to invest in a 3D enabled Blu-ray player, you will enjoy a small but growing range of titles.
Sony are also launching a range of 3D PS3 games which are free for download via the Playstation network when you buy a Sony 3D TV (a firmware update will give the PS3 3D capability later this year).
Sony's flagship TV also features 'Intelligent Dynamic' Edge based LED backlighting which implements a form of local dimming for more precise picture control. Sony say that the 3D image is further enhanced with the inclusion of 'high speed precision', 'LED boost' and '3D up conversion' for a brighter clearer image.
Sony's Bravia Internet Video service is included for on-demand programming, with the likes of YouTube and catch-up TV (implementations will vary from country to country).
Using motion detection technology, Sony's Presence sensor puts the TV into power saving mode if it thinks that there is no one watching and will even warn your kids if they are sitting too close to the screen.
There is integrated Wi-fi for connection to your home wireless network with DLNA for streaming media files from your PC. Sony 'Widget' technology allows you to bypass your computer altogether and add on screen programmes which give you access to the likes of 'twitter' and 'facebook'.
The LX903 range comes in 40in and 60in sizes and is available in the UK now. The HX903 (46in and 52in) and HX803 (40in and 46in) ranges are 3D capable, requiring an optional 3D dongle to add 3D capability.
