At just £22.99 per month, consumers can get access to Sky Sports 1 cheaper than any other provider. The new service is offered by topuptv.com.

Although Sky, Virgin Media and BT would argue that their bundles of services such as broadband and telephone offer better value, the fact is that if you just want Sky Sports there is no one cheaper than topuptv.com at this time.

Designed to attract Freeview users and the like, Sky Sports 1 will be available for £22.99 a month while Sky Sports 1 and 2 together will cost £31.99 and a triple pack including ESPN will be £39.99.

BT Vision are offering Sky Sports 1 and 2 for £6.99 with ESPN sport included. Sky Sports 1 and 2 combined cost £11.99. However, to get the discount you have to sign up for 24 months and pay £11.54 in line rental and £17.99 for a TV/telephone/broadband pack.

Again, while Virgin Media charges £13.50 for Sky Sports 1 or 2, this has to include their basic TV channel package for an extra £11 (£24.50 in total).

For those consumers who do not want other services and who would prefer not to get tied into a long term contract, the new topuptv.com service is an interesting option. Consumers will have the option of getting the service for the season duration of the sport they are interested in.
