Samsung have confirmed that their gorgeous 8 series and 7 Series 3D enabled LED TV's will be with us within the month, closely followed by the range topping 9000 line.
Samsung are not releasing detailed specs or prices at the moment, but larger (40in and above) versions of the C7000, C8000 and the C9000 series will feature integrated Freeview HD tuners, 200Hz processing and will of course be 3D ready.
You don't even have to worry about getting hold of 3D content as the new 3D enabled TV's can convert 2D material into pseudo 3D. An integrated 2D to 3D slider ranging from one to ten will give viewers the option of adjusting the intensity of the 3D effect.
Likely to become a standard feature on your TV, the new screens will also feature Wi-Fi internet connectivity. Most consumers will enjoy the convenience of streaming video from the likes of the BBC iPlayer, YouTube and film rental company, LoveFilm.
Of course, LED is as big a selling point on these new screens as 3D. With a market that is expected to account for the majority of overall TV sales by 2012, 3D is really an exercise in covering all bases for most manufacturers.
Although Samsung's new screens do provide a credible 3D effect, we wonder how long the novelty will last, especially with the requirement to wear the special 'Active Shutter' glasses.
