With something for everyone from four new LED TV lines, Sony are planning to claw back market share lost to the likes of Samsung, LG and Sharp.

Although the 3m or so LED TV's sold in 2009 represented just 16% of the total flat screen market, Sony are anxious to get a slice of a market which is predicted to achieve 16m unit sales in 2010. By 2013, the majority of LCD TV's sold will use LED technology.

First up is the leviathan KDL-60LX903 which sits alone at the top of Sony's 2010 LCD range. Their flagship TV comes with Edge based LED backlighting, Wi-Fi internet access, Freeview HD tuner, 200Hz and 3D capability.

Delivering consecutively projected right eye and left eye images in Full HD resolution, integrated 3D is the 60LX903's big selling point. Edge based LED backlighting gives the screen an incredibly svelte profile.

Next up is the KDL-52NX803 which retains all of the LX903's features apart from 3D capability. The KDL-46NX703 gets Sony's 100Hz MotionFlow rather than the 200Hz system.

Without integrated Wi-Fi, but enjoying the more sophisticated 'local dimming' implementation of LED backlighting, the HX903 line comes in the shape of the KDL-52HX903 and KDL-46HX903. Both screens retain 200Hz MotionFlow and have a built-in Freeview HD tuner.

Looking similar to Sharp's budget LE600 and LE700 LED TV's, Sony's EX line reverts back to Edge based LED backlighting.

The KDL-60EX703, KDL-52EX703 and KDL-46EX703 get the 100Hz implementation of Sony's MotionFlow system. Sony describe the EX series as 'Wi-Fi Ready' with connectivity through an optional 'dongle'.

We expect to see Sony's new range of LED TV's from this Summer. As yet there have been no pricing details released.
