Anticipating the gradual role out of High Definition channels through the Freeview platform during 2010, Humax have released details of their first HD Freeview boxes.

The Humax HD-FOX T2 Freeview HD box is due to hit UK stores during the first quarter of 2010. As well as being able to pick up Freeview HD broadcasts (720p) it will also feature 1080p upscaling.

Elsewhere there is auto detection to avoid having to retune and it will play media from an external hard drive or USB key. There is also the functionality to record onto USB hard drives.

The Humax HD-FOX T2 Freeview HD PVR will be released around the same time as the standard box. Along with all the features of its sibling it will feature a 500GB hard drive for recording High Definition and Standard Definition material.

Humax have given no confirmation of prices, but it is anticipated that the standard HD-FOX T2 will retail for around £170.
