For those of you who would like to access the free-to-view satellite service, 'Freesat', but have come to rely on DVR (Digital Video Recording) functionality provided by your Sky+ box, help will shortly be at hand with the Humax FOXSAT-HDR.
The Foxsat-HDR comes with twin HD digital tuners along with a 320GB hard drive which will allow you to record around 80 hours of High Definition (HD) material or 200 hours of Standard Definition (SD) content.
The Foxsat-HDR comes equipped with an HDMI output, two SCART sockets and a Dolby digital audio output.
The new Freesat+ box from Humax, will, as you would expect, allow pausing, recording, and playback of live programmes and also has more advanced functionality such as series recording, radio recording, schedule tracking (so recordings start and finish on time, even when broadcasters change their schedule), and split recordings (to record two-part programmes that may have a break in the middle for a news bulletin, such as films). It also comes with an eight day on-screen EPG (Electronic Programme Guide).
The Foxsat-HDR will start to appear in UK stores mid November with a recommended retail price of £299.
