Panasonic super slim Blu-ray players

New to the UK, Panasonic's DMP-BD35 and DMP-BD55 (pictured) Blu-ray players measure up at a very svelte like 49mm and 55mm high respectively.

There is much more to Panasonic's Blu-ray entrants however than their slimline profiles. Both the BD35 and BD55 are BD-Live (Profile 2.0) compatible. Both players have LAN ports so users can download images, subtitles and other extras related to the Blu-ray film they are watching as well as accessing special features embedded on compatible discs.

Panasonic use a brand-new version of their proprietary picture processor for both players, 'PHL Reference Chroma Processor Plus', which has been designed to produce a clearer and sharper picture. There is support on both machines for Dolby TrueHD, Dolby Digital Plus and DTS-HD MA audio, both offering internal decoding or bitstreamed output in full 7.1.

With the core specification of its BD35 sibling, the BD55 also gets you uprated audio parts which include new capacitors and a 192kHz/24bit DAC. The BD55 also receives further insulation to minimize vibrations. Additionally, the DMP-BD55 has a set of seven-channel analogue outputs (catering for users who would like to connect analogue outputs to their amplifiers, but have been limited to 5.1 channels with other Blu-ray players).
