Directed by the Wachowski brothers and staring Keanu Reeves, Laurence Fishburne and Carrie-ann Moss, the Matrix Trilogy is out in High Definition Blu-ray format on the 11th December in the UK.
The Matrix films have achieved cult status as well as widespread consumer appeal which has been due in no small part to innovative special effects combined with real time live fight action (choreographed by the accomplished Hong Kong director Yuen Wo-Ping).
Morphing technology had been used on films before but the Wachowski brothers were the first to employ the use of 'bullet time,' which utilises both computer-generated imagery and still photography to create time-bending digital effects.
The three film trilogy on Blu-ray will include 'THE MATRIX', 'THE MATRIX RELOADED' and 'MATRIX REVOLUTIONS'.
