With features such as Wiselink Pro, InfoLive, Contents Library and DLNA connection, Samsung aim to make their new 8 series LCD TV's multimedia centrepieces.
Samsung have been working with the search engine company Yahoo to produce 'InfoLive', which uses RSS web feeds to display up-to-date information on-screen. WISELINK Pro enables the playback of media types from USB devices, while DLNA (Digital Living Network Alliance) allows users to stream multimedia content from their PCs. Content Library features embedded content such as interactive fitness exercises, cooking recipes and built-in games that can be played via the TV's remote control.
The Series 8 LCD TV's are equipped with 4 HDMI inputs, 100Hz Motion Plus, Full HD 1080p, a claimed 70,000:1 contrast ratio and Ultra Clear Panel. The latest incarnation of Ultra Clear Panel, super clear-II has been designed to reduce light reflection and increase contrast.
At just a shade under 4.5cm thick Samsung's 8 series LCD TV's present a svelte like profile which unlike other slim screen offerings house all of their connectivity within the same unit.
Samsung's 8 series IPTV's are available in the UK now with a choice of 40in, 46in or 52in screens.
