Samsung expand their LCD colour range

Not even Samsung could have imagined the degree to which their 'Rose Red' LCD TV's captured the buying public's imagination. As it is, they are set to capitalize on the success of the range with the introduction of two variations on a theme, a 'Touch of Blue' and 'charcoal gray' screens.

Samsung have stated that the original inspiration for the 'Rose Red' series was Venetian glassblowers. A unique crystalization process during manufacture produces a frame which is both transparent and opaque.

Adding to the stylistic mix, the 6 series scores another industry first as the only flat panel TV to dispense with the use of either glue or screws in the manufacturing process giving the screen a handcrafted natural feel.

Samsung's 'Touch of Colour' technology is set to receive a twist with the introduction of their charcoal gray 9 series LCD TV's (46in and 52in) which also feature a distinctive honey-comb pattern. The new screens will be available in the UK towards the end of the year.

Samsung will use the same manufacturing process used to produce the 'Rose Red' six series on their forthcoming 8 series, to create screens with a subtle hint of blue. The new 8 series comes in the shape of the 850 which retains the rose red finish while the 860 TV's have the new hint of deep blue. Both lines feature 40in, 46in and 52in screens.
