Measuring 38mm thick the new 'Essence' range from Philips may not be the slimmest TV's around, but they are certainly some of the most stylish screens we have seen.
The Philips Essence will initially be available as the 42in 42PES0001 featuring a connection and power breakout box which helps to create the sleek profile.
The new screens are Full HD panels with 100Hz motion processing along with Philips' Pixel Perfect HD Engine and a 66,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio.
All of Philips' Essence range will be DLNA compliant. DLNA is a standard for creating wired and wireless interoperable networks where digital content such as photos, music, and videos can be shared through consumer electronics (CE), personal computers (PCs), and mobile devices in and beyond the home.
Elsewhere there is an Ethernet port, three 1.3v HDMI ports, a USB port for viewing digital photos and playing MP3's. An ultra stylish 'soundbar' (2 x 15W) sits just below the TV screen.
