Archos 5g goes for style and substance
Media Player | Tuesday 16th Sept 2008
Described by Archos as an 'Internet Media Tablet',
the HSDPA enabled 5G has been designed to give consumers the best mobile Internet, Media and TV experience to date.
The stand out feature of the 5g is HSDPA for broadband-fast
web browsing with the built-in Opera browser
on the gorgeous 4.8in touchscreen.
With the optional DVR Station you can schedule recordings from a
satellite receiver, Digital TV adapter (DVB-T), VCR or cable
box, all in a few clicks. With the optional Freeview
receiver you can watch and record TV on the go. There will
also be a car dock which allows the 5g to function as a gps
receiver.
The 5g will come with email support and Flash 9 video capabilities so users can access YouTube
videos.
With models ranging from 60 GB to a huge 250 GB hard drive, the storage capacity will cater for most users mobile needs.
Unfortunately we will have to wait until later in the year
for the 5g to arrive. The Archos 5 (5in screen) and 7 (7in
screen) offer similar capabilities to the 5g without HSDPA and are out now.
