In what could prove to be an irresistible draw for consumers, combining their legendary style with an incredibly slim 9mm bezel, Sony have produced one of the stars of this years IFA electronics show in Berlin.
The 40in panel Sony displayed dispenses with the traditional LCD backlight for an innovative approach which sees white LEDs mounted in the four corners of the frame (Sony's Edge LED technology).
Along with the incredibly svelte looks, the ZX1 weighs in at a mere 12.2kg.
The drawback of such a slim frame is that connectivity is reduced to just a single HDMI input. The single HDMI is there to communicate with a wireless box offering additional connectivity in the shape of a further three HDMI inputs. An ethernet and USB port facilitates 1080i streaming with 'Bravia 1080 Wireless' technology . The ZX1 will be available in Japan towards the end of the year.
