Focusing on what is becoming a must have feature on LCD TV's, JVC have introduced the latest version of their increased frame rate technology, Clear Motion Drive II (CMD II).
Designed specifically to reduce/eliminate motion smearing (the slight blurring you see on fast action images on flat panel TVs) CMD II inserts an extra frame (moving images are a series of rapidly changing frames giving the impression of movement) into the picture processing algorithm, effectively doubling the frame rate and producing smoother pictures.
The new X898 series of LCD TV's from JVC also feature 10-bit panels which roughly translates to a huge increase in the number of colours the panels can display.
With Full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution and three HDMI (1.3) inputs the new sets from JVC are starting to look like they will become some of the most impressively specified sets on the market. Early indications of their performance (alongside similar Toshiba, Sony and Sharp offerings) have been very positive, and hint at a breakthrough for JVC who have not really cut it as yet in the highly competitive LCD flat panel arena.
Available as the 37in LT-37X898, the 42in LT-42X898 and the 47in LT-47X898 the models are expected to arrive on these shores late autumn.
