Pioneer Adds Full HD to its plasma range
Pioneer PDP-LX508D

Adding to their highly acclaimed range of 'kuro' (Kuro meaning 'black' in Japanese) plasma screens, the electronics giant Pioneer are set to introduce four new Full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution screens this September.

Two new 50in sets, the PDP-LX508D and PDP-LX5080 will be joined by the 60in PDP-LX608D and PDP-LX6080D screens.

Contrast ratio on the new sets is up to a claimed 20,000:1 and 1080p capability is complemented by 'Direct Colour Filter 3+' (available on PDP-LX508 and PDP-LX608D models). The new picture processing technology has been designed to ensure that when bright light falls directly onto the screen, the picture and black levels remain unaffected by ambient light.

Due out towards the end of September, the PDP-LX508, PDP-LX5080D, PDP-LX608 and PDP-LX6080D will retail for around £3500, £3300, £5000 and £4750 respectively.
