Sharp adds to Aquos range of LCD TV's
Sharp X20E

Sharp have a busy autumn ahead with the launch of the XL2 and X20E range of LCD TV's which both fall under the company's 'Aquos' umbrella.

The XL2 Series, available as the 42in LC-42XL2E, the 46in LC-46XL2E and the 52in LC-52XL2E feature Full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution allied to Sharp's take on 100Hz picture processing, 'Double Frame Drive'. With 100Hz processing comes 10-bit colour which expands the range of on screen hues for smoother colour gradients.

Sharp's 100Hz technology doubles the number of frames shown on previous LCD TV's from 50 to 100 by interpolating an extra frame in between each source frame; the aim being to create more fluid fast action pictures. 100Hz processing is currently available on Sharp's RD2E range of LCD TV's.

The XL2 series is joined by the X20E range which also features Full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution but loses the 100Hz processing. The X20E will be available as the 32in LC-32X20E, 37in LC-37X20E, 42in LC-42X20E, 46in LC-46X20E and 52-inch LC52-X20E.

All screens in both new Aquos lines will feature 3 HDMI (1.3) inputs along with SRS tru surround audio systems, and feature the Aquos link function, which enables compatible Sharp products to be controlled from a single remote.

No word yet on availability or pricing, but expect all of these sets to be in a showroom near you by the end of October.
