Sharp has released details of the first LCD TV’s to feature THX certification. The 52in LV-52TH1 And the 65in LV-65TH1 feature the audio visual quality standard developed by Lucasfilm, headed by the name synonymous with Star Wars, George Lucas.
Rest assured however, THX certification is more than a window dressing exercise, with tough criteria to meet in the shape of brightness, contrast and video processing for a home theater level of video reproduction.
The new T-Series from Sharp also boasts an impressive specification with a Full HD resolution (1920 x 1,080) 3 HDMI’s along with 120Hz processing. Additionally the screens feature 1x DVI, 2x Firewire and Ethernet connection.
The LV-52TH1 and LV-65TH1 will certainly not fall into the budget category when it comes to price, retailing for around £3,000 and £6,000 respectively when they are released in Japan this September.
