Getting ready for Freesat

To enjoy digital TV services with Freesat you will first need to install a satellite dish. A standard Freesat installation should cost less than £100 with Freesat+ coming in at a little extra because of the requirement for an extra feed from the dish.
If you already have a standard Sky dish, or another dish pointing at the Eurobird or Astra 2 satellites you can simply attach the necessary equipment (described below) and you are ready to go.
After installing a satellite dish, there are basically four different types of product which allow you to convert signals from your satellite into Freesat channels. All of the products below provide standard functionality such as EPG (Electronic Programming Guide) while Freesat+ equipment is also starting to appear. Freesat+ has similar functionality to Sky HD+ in that it allows you to pause live broadcasts and benefit from other advanced features.
